The new Canada 150 pavilion at Harris Park, London, Ontario is a sleek and modern building built to replace the gazebo style bandshell from the 1990s. The design goals included adding additional square footage, creating a barrier free design with revised pathways, and to create a venue that would reinforce the community sense of place at Harris Park.
The pavilion was completed for July 1st to be unveiled as part of the City of London’s Canada 150 celebration.
The hangar-style metal structure has a slanted roof rising from a diagonal axis which will improve sound quality. The structure is open and contemporary, providing a venue for many types of community events.
