Project File - The Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre, Edmonton

The Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre (CCRC) in Edmonton Alberta is now 5+ years old, but the angular design looks as ultra modern as if it were completed this year instead of 2012.

The CCRC building was a joint project between the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club includes space for stadium activities, football operations along with a community and fitness centre. The construction project was divided in 3 masses, gymnasium, aquatics, and field house, which define the buildings structure.

New Canada 150 Pavilion Built With Vicwest Roofing & Cladding

The new Canada 150 pavilion at Harris Park, London, Ontario is a sleek and modern building built to replace the gazebo style bandshell from the 1990s. The design goals included adding additional square footage, creating a barrier free design with revised pathways, and to create a venue that would reinforce the community sense of place at Harris Park.

The pavilion was completed for July 1st to be unveiled as part of the City of London’s Canada 150 celebration.

The hangar-style metal structure has a slanted roof rising from a diagonal axis which will improve sound quality. The structure is open and contemporary, providing a venue for many types of community events.
